Bill,
New here. Notice lot of interest in US re: cell freqs.
Back in July I was pricing the BC9000 at Durham Radio in Ontario.
They said it's a great set.. but not modifiable to cells. The PRO2042
will be modifiable with a European chip they expect to get. I dropped
purchase for now due to other priorities.
(But saw an ad from Cellular Sec Grp and they say they can unlock BC9000
too. Don't know who to believe.)
Any feedback on performance of BC9000? Worth $$ ?
You guys out there might want to check with Durham Radio to see if now
have a chip for PRO2042.. I asked for a catalog but never got it. But
sent me E-mail re: CLOSEOUTS. They are at http://www.durhamradio.ca Got
this from POPULAR COMMUNICATIONS, Jul 96, page 76.
Their E-mail is durhamradio@osha.igs.net. Will send them copy of this
message, incase it will prompt them to send me my catalog... for which I
authorized a $3.00 charge.

Funn

BC>You're right that Canada doesn't have an anti-scanner law for cellular.
But

Hope this helps and doesn't muddle up your book business Bill.
Probably a mistake posting this... now Durham will raise prices due to
extra demand, and my first scanner will cost me more.
Cheers
