I know how you are feeling about Windows. Years ago I had a Tandy Model
II and belonged to the Tandy Business Users Group. I had switched to a
Tandy Model 6000 using Unix Operating System. As much as I hated to
move up, things change very quickly in the computer world. Eventually I
made the move to MSDOS mainly because all the business was there. Today
everything is moving toward Windows95. Whether we like it or not, the
fact remains it is the main operating system used by most of the people
in the world.
I love using the Quicken Version 5 for Windows. I am sure that most of
the features are also available in the DOS Version 8. In my class today
I covered mortgages and how to enter them into Quicken. By the time the
2 1/2 hours were up, several of the class members asked me how they
would enter the information if they held the mortgages. The people I am
teaching are all over 55 and some as much as 85. It is encouraging to
see the expressions on their faces as they grasp new concepts of how to
do things with the computer.
I am seriously thinking of having an open Question and Answer session in
the Fidonet Quicken section. If time does allow I'll let you know when
I will start so that you can pick up the node.
Keep in touch.
