My co-sysop a few years back bought an old beat-up Craftsman tool set at a 
garage sale. He then proceeded to the local Sears and replaced all the 
broken tools with new replacements.

While more expensive on the replacement end, I wonder if companies with 
simple, comprehensive warranties save money in the long run.
