MB>LT> What kind of marigold are we talking about here. The classic
MB>LT> French Marigold, the Pot Marigold, or the African Marigold?
The Pot marigold is actually calendula, a great little flower for the
garden and herbalists. I think the French marigolds are the main
defense against nematodes - let me check. Oops! I was wrong -it's the
tall Africans that produce the inhibiting effect. And solarization
  works well also.
MB>nice! Well one pack of seed, plus usually little marigolds
MB>spring up nearby whenever you grow marigolds. They are sort of
MB>like dill that way.
Not in my soil. I've only ever had seedling marigolds in a wet year.
:-) Even dill isn't very prolific at self seeding most years.
