Excellent. Maximus is quickly approaching stability; two enormous problems
right now are: no serial support/serial mailer handoff, and no MEX. Many
other minor problems exist, but those are, well, minor (such as binary
compatibility between different platforms' compiled config files).

The requirements at this point are (off the top of my head) -- gcc 2.95+,
GNU make 3.79+, yacc (or bison -- any version), a bourne-compatible shell,
and ... I think that's about it.

Getting it run under djgpp should be possible, but it will be a lot of
work. Also, you could probably get away with an older version of GCC, be
I'm not sure how old (one of my boxes has a '95 version of egcs which
works).
