Did you get max to listen in wfc mode?
 
# cd /var/max
# bin/max -w -n0 -b38400
 
Should do the trick. The ComSetBaudRate() log message appears to be normal;
I suspect perhaps it is used for modem locked DTE rate debugging.
 
Are you running Maximus3_03b, or the CVS image? The tagged release is
better tested, but the one in the CVS tree probably works. :) If it is
indeed a bug in the latest version, I suspect getting the old ipcomm.c will
fix things.
