Don't know where you heard this one, but it's absolutely and totally
incorrect. VREPAIR has been able to remove name space support from NetWare
volumes since NetWare 3.x introduced name spaces. There is absolutely no
need to delete a NetWare partition in order to remove a name space. (OK,
there's one exception, having to do with an upgrade to the Mac name space
that shipped with NW 4.10. In that case, RTFM.)

Actually, adding a name space *could* slow down a server's performance if
it was already marginal on RAM. Adding a name space to a volume also adds
a new Directory Table entry for *every* file and directory on the volume.
The RAM needed for standard indexing and directory caching could slow down
a server's performance.
