Try plugging the Mackie outputs directly into the inputs of your
monitor amp. Turn all the Mackie controls all the way down and turn
up the monitor amp. If you hear the hum, the monitor amp is the
problem.
If not, turn the monitor amp back down, push up all the Mackie's
sliders to their 0 point, then turn the monitor amp back up. If the
hum comes up, the Mackie's the problem. If not, leave the monitor
amp up and push the Mackie sliders all the way up. If the hum comes
up, the Mackie's the problem.
If not, put the Mackie's sliders back down to the 0 point, turn off
the monitor amp, and plug in your main power amp. Turn the amp up
and find out if it is causing the hum. If not, turn it off, and run
the Mackie's outputs directly into the amp for your Bose units.
Turn up the Bose amp to find if it's the source of the hum. (I'm
assuming you have a separate amp for the Bose ceiling speakers. If
not, of course this step doesn't apply.)
Turn off the main power amp and plug in the signal processor
(between the Mackie and the amp). Turn the amp back on, turn it all
the way up and then turn up the processor's controls. If that's not
the problem, turn down the amp, turn it off, take out the processor,
replace it with the eq, and do the same thing.
This kind of step by step trouble shooting should let you find out
exactly which component is responsible for your hum problem. If the
hum problem does not come up with this testing, then add back in the
other components one at a time until you find which combination of
components generates the hum.
