Sondra,
In Arizona they don't change the time twice a year, they just stay on the
same time all the time....now I can't recall which time it is, but it stays
the same throughout the year.
One person fianlly told me that I appearred to be overly qualified, and
they didn't expect me to be with the company for long. I don't think they
were supposed to tell me that, but I really pushed them for an answer as to
why I wasn't hired. On the other hand, the place where I'll start working,
the Doctor actually interviewed me the same day I was initially interviewed.
He said, 'you have been around haven't you'.......'I would like the
opportunity to work with you'. Of course I have heard just about anything
and everything at this point, so I didn't get my hopes up. But they called
back the following morning with an offer. It will be rgeat, sonce they work
M-F 8:30 - 5. No weekends, one late Thur per month , and all
holidays are observed. They are also letting me take off early to continue
teaching until the semister is over, which will be nice that I can have that
extra money coming in for another month and at least start getting caught up
on these bills.
This has been another right of passage here....seems like everytime I come
home I go through the same thing in gettting and keeping a jobs. I'm not
quite certain what it is. In Calif they look at experience as to the pay,
and also look to see if you have taken any continuing education in the field.
Here they would jsut as well hire someone right out of school, and disregard
anything else. Bring them in at low pay, and keep them until they figure out
that they are being underpaid and look for something else.
Gotta' run for now and get some breakfast, and then head on back to bed.
I'm feeling a bit better this morning, not as dizzy as I have been in the
last few days.
Patti
