Hi All,
Just saw a Tv show : Mercy mission:The rescue of flight 711. It was
made in 1993 and the story was about this guy flying a Cessna Agwagon
from SFO to SYD. He got lost and was rescued by an Air New Zealand
767. The show claimed he flew non stop from Pango Pango for
23 hours!! He landed at Auckland and while on finals he ran out of
fuel. Obviously the story must of been dramatised for TV. The show
claimed it happened in the late 1970's. Does anyone have any of the
actual facts of what happened? 23 hours seems a long time! Could an
Agwagon carry that much fuel in it's hopper?
