Yes....the old road (prior to I-5) was a very curvy, windy road that 
resembled a grapevine when viewed from the air. Fortunately, I-5 straightened 
it out, but the name still sticks. If you look on a map, the area referred to 
the "Grapevine" north of the town of Gorman. There is now a townsite called 
Grapevine - but it's mainly just a bunch of restaurants and gas stations at 
the foot of the mountains. We have eaten at two of them, on various trips.
