I have just received a call from Jill Stewart, author of an article I 
quoted from in our discussion on whole language, and she has given me 
permission to post her article here as well as on my own web site.
This article is lengthy but significant to those participating in the 
whole language discussion here, for she has done her homework well, and 
cites quite a few sources regarding the research done, or lack thereof, 
in support of whole language.
