Sylvain,  ...are you familiar with the TSR program BACKDOWN from 
PC-MAGAZINE originally ? 
 
Includes asm source and it's own custom X-MODEM, CIS-B, and ASCII 
protocals for downloading (usually OLR stuff) in the background while 
you work on other things.  ...includes script compiling ability, 
ErrorLevel exits and optional Pop-Up progress notification. 
 
Sorry to say the protocals are download only and no Z-Modem but 
there's assembly language source for all of what it does have. 
 
Pretty slick.
