Well, you'll never get that with a UNIX environment -- unless you are, say, restricting yourself to statically linked binaries running SVR4 x86 or something similar. I see no reason why you can't have shared configuration files, though -- that's one of my long term goals. It will require a little hoop-jumping (mostly implemented) for filenames, however.
