True, you can glue a lot together with shell scripts, but I have some need for
small, but specialised programs that have to be compiled (talking on sockets,
etc). What I'm currently using is far from satisfactory, hacked together with
some C source I found on the net and shell scripts. The scripts are fine for
the most part, but the C isn't really what I wanted and sometimes causes
issues. But I don't know enough C to tweak it.
