 MK> Hey James!
Heya...

MK>> methinks. Different rope too. :-)
JB> Different rope for different nooses?
 MK> Exactly!
JB> A) We could be paying $10K for a proprietary *NIX
 MK> Not likely.

I've got one in a box that likely was 35K or more of database, editor,
 spreadsheets...

JB> B) We could be paying into the MS Juggernaut
MK> Let the Chinese have it.

LOL! That'll prevent a hostile takeover, or accelerate one.

JB> C) We could lock into BSD
 MK> Possibly.

But then again...
JB> D) Loosy goosy with Tux the Linux
MK> Most definetly! Loose and full of juice!
Balls to the walls, man!

 JB> compute JB> falling bodies...

I have a Turbo copy here, and I have to say, you'd be surprised how
peppy it was. All this on the pile of rubble called Windows.

JB> Yes... Can you make a Power Point presentation? WHO CARES! You can
JB> produce Harry Bloody Potter movies on it, so go away!"
MK> Heh, heh. Yeah that could happen.

I'd be amazed at how many embedded kernels people already have in
their house. (Well' I'd be dumbfounded to fathom the number in my
house.) On shows like 24, and NCIS, they always seem to talking
 *NIX/Linux.

MK> Don't forget the duct tape eh? If the women don't find you
MK> handsome they at least should find you handy.
I'll have to transcribe Montros's quote from the movie.

Besides, to do neat stuff - besides the straight and narrow. Pick up
and compile a bunch of a LOT of different stuff. MS promoting software
that "Only runs on Windows."

Earache my eye!
