Yes, although I often ran into problems with the Windows ports not quite
working the way they should. Likewise years ago when I ran OS/2 on my main
machine and ran UNIX ports of various things, thanks to EMX.
No doubt the situation has improved a lot these days but I like that Microsoft
have finally embraced the idea of a Linux environment on top of Windows 10,
because it's going to take a lot of the stress away from wondering whether
something is going to work properly or not.
In 5-10 years time when Windows 10 becomes the default OS on the majority of
PCs (for better or worse), at least the Linux environment will be a standard
component everyone* can install and use with very little effort.
* everyone with a broadband connection, anyway...
