I was looking through a 1935 souvenir brochure for Griffith Observatory,
when I cam across this shot of a very contemporary looking scope. I wonder
if the big, round counterbalance was water filled?

Here's an 80k scan of the ATM section of the brochure. Apparently ATM had
an alcove all to itself at that time, complete with displays. It would
seem that 15” - 20" mirrors were not unknown. Check out the two TN's
working with the tools of the trade.

Does anybody have a links to similar old ATM material?
