On 01-17-98, KEITH KNAPP declared to DAVID HARTUNG:
KK>because the OT places locusts among the 4-legged creatures, or
You are mistaken. The two large legs used for leaping are described
separately from the four smaller "feet". The "four feet" terminology is
really an idiom equivalent to "down on all fours" anyway, describing a
creature that moves about with all its appendages, but not necessarily
including wings, on the ground.
Ordinarily, I wouldn't address your comments on the Genesis account as
I'm about to, because in this forum, it is inappropriate and does
violence to echo rules. However, you claimed your belief that "Yeshua
ben Joseph was an incarnation of God", so this one time with respect to
these comments to you on that basis, perhaps our friendly neighborhood
moderators will allow me this without bruising me too badly in the
cyber-woodshed. |-)
This is not in any way intended to generate debate from you or anyone
else (I will not respond to such here because of those echo rules, but
am willing to do so via private email - my address is in my sig), but
rather simply to provide you food for thought and your personal testing
of the belief you claim:
In Matt 19:4-5, Jesus quoted in affirmation from the Genesis account
concerning Adam and Eve; in Matt 24:38, He likewise affirmed the Flood
account, and in Matt 5:18 when he spoke of every jot and tittle of the
Law, He was speaking of all that is written in the Five Books of Moses,
including Genesis and the references to Creation in Ex 20:11 and 31:17.
Those are only a few examples.
I would also note in passing, because of your allusion in an earlier
post to stoning adulterers, that Jesus affirmed *all* such laws of God,
including the death penalty even for the tough to handle case of whoever
curses father or mother (Matt 15:3-9).
If you truly believe as you claim that Jesus was God incarnate, should
you not then believe His witness concerning scripture, or are the
traditions of men, like those for which He condemned the Pharisees, more
important to you than the words of God? |-)
