I thought there was/is another similar set of ports of unixie opensource
programs but perhaps that has fallen by the wayside.  I forget now what it was
called.  Also this might be a good time to mention DJGPP which was a DOS port
of gcc way back when.  Also, also, the so-called 'hjl' branches of gcc and
glibc which if I am not mistaken are the initials of a developer Microsoft
hired to look after their opensource projects.
