CB> "This is out of our jurisdiction (field of endeavor, etc.)..."

Yep, I have a lot of those letters too. Don't give up though. Make a pest
of yourself and sooner or later someone HAS to listen! It took 6 letters
and faxes to the White House to get our case shifted to an agency that took
some action! I was going to send you some information via NetMail but
I noticed you were leaving for Houston so I don't know where to send it to.
I guess I'll post it on the VOCAL echo for you. I don't want to infringe
too heavily on someone else's echo. I hope the info will help. I'm sure
you've probably already done a lot of it, but there may be something there
that will help. You might contact an organization called Friends Outside.
They may have some ideas for you too. I don't know much about them but
they might also be a good source of support. It can't hurt to try.

I agree with you completly about the public officials.

CB> You don't know how good it is to have found places to discuss this

Trust me on this, yes I do know quite well how it feels. I think it is
the only thing that preserved my sanity.

CB> A sorrow shared is a sorrow halved. Not only that, but it is bracing

Well, I think I was meant to make a difference somehow, and the word
trickling down to me is that I am making a difference in this county. It
may be just one little corner of the world, but it's nice to know that I
can turn our nightmare into something good.

CB> Yes, there is something you can do: if you can (and I gather that

CB> help, that would be most welcome.

Have you tried to call Denver to see if they know of an attorney that might
be able to help? If not, call Donna Smith at 1-800-745-8778. Yes, VOCAL
is a consuming interest of mine. My kids want me to go back to the way I
was before, but Clara, I can't. What happened to us could happen to them
when they have children, and I couldn't handle seeing them suffer like we
did before. If I can make a difference before they have kids, or even
while they're kids are young, then maybe I can keep something terrible from
happening to them. I'm trying to protect their future, and I can't turn
back, no matter how much I want to. I think VOCAL will always be a part of
my life (or for as long as VOCAL is needed). I may become less active in
VOCAL as time goes on, but no matter where I go, VOCAL goes with me.

CB> Thank you again for your compassionate response to us. I hope to have
CB> good, ongoing communication w/you and a few others I've found.

You're quite welcome, and I look forward to hearing from you. :)

CB> What is Family Rights Advocacy OnLine? Is the phone a BBS, or voice?
The Family Rights Advocacy OnLine is a section on a BBS. The phone number
is for the BBS itself.
