Hi Everyone!
Well, I thought I would check in and tell everyone what I've been
up to.
My new horse trailer is working out very well. Walker goes in and
out with no trouble at all. He has his own window in the front that he
likes to look out of when we are going down the road. I didn't have any
problems teaching him to turn around in the trailer and walk out front-
wards. My neighbor talked me into hauling four cows in it the other day.
Boy those stinking cows made a BIG MESS in it!! I had manure four feet
up the walls all the way around and a half inch thick covering the floor.
I was real glad when he offered to wash it out for me Walker is much
more of a gentleman than those Dumb cows.
My wife, daughter, and I went to the Range Control Office at Fort
Lewis last week and got our riding permits for the Military Reservation.
We went riding on Sat. for two hours and had a great time.(It's only ten
minutes from our house) Our neighbor has three horses that she wanted to
exercise so we all had mounts. I rode Walker and he walks about twice as
fast as the other horses which was a slight problem. I didn't want to
make him walk slow cause thats not what I bought him for and its bred
into him to fast walk, so.........I would get way out in front, stop and
let him eat grass until they caught up, and away we would go again. The
other horses didn't seem to mind. Boy, is he a speedster! His head bobs
up and down and his feet go a mile a minute and I am cruising. Yes! this
is FUN.
Monday, took him to the Vet's for his annual shots. Poor guy got
3 in the rear and I wormed him when we got home.I think he had more fun
on Sat. I got a lesson on giving shots so I will give him his boosters
in a month.He got East/West, PHF, Rhino, Tetanus,and Influenza.YIKES I'm
glad I'm not a horse.
I like to have a lead rope on him when I go trail riding but the
halter seems to be interfering with the hackamore. I wonder if I would
be better off with a bit, or maybe get rid of the halter and rig up the
lead rope different. Any suggestions?? Does anyone make a bridle that
doubles as a halter??
Oh, to Mike May, I have a female Boxer also. She is a 5 yr old
fawn and she is my sweetheart. Great dogs. She is my 3rd one.

                              ........Dave.......
