My husband has gotten several "neat" things that way, as have I. When Kristin
was in kindergarten, the school that I was teaching at was throwing away
three perfectly good double (two student) desks and several good chairs - all
because they were stored in a storage building that someone found 2 rats in.
I took some VERY strong disinfectant cleaner (non diluted Simple Green) and a
scrub brush, and spent a Saturday morning scrubbing down one of the desks and
two of the chairs. That desk was perfect sized for holding their computer
(until it finally died a few months ago). Now it will make a good
homeschooling desk for two little girls, after my husband raises it a notch.
