Responding to a message by Matt, to Paul on ...
MS>I was friends with the attendance secretary and was
MS>helping the assistant principal she worked for at the time.
MS>The attendance secretary daily put out an "attendance
MS>bulletin" listing absences (and excuses) by homeroom.
MS>You'd see some kids who came in with a different excuse
MS>every day and missed half the days...never for a see-a-
MS>doctor level excuse.
Interesting - I would think there might be a liability problem with
making medical and personal excuses public - do I really want my
daughter's gynecological visit posted on the daily bulletin for all to
read? I think not. Excuses are handled only by the nurse in our school.
