I have been restoring a fairly nice T-4XC, but find that it has been
"monkeyed" with a little bit. A previous owner has pulled a wire
off a circuit board post (cb is near the driver tube) and soldered two 22k
resistors in series between the wire and the post on the board. Nothing on
the board itself appears to have been changed.

Schematically, this adds 44k in between R41/R42 and R40, which goes to the
grid of V4, the driver.

Does anybody have any idea why this might have been done? How would this
benefit the operation of this circuit? Should I leave it, or bring it back
to the way it was originally put together?

Any help would be appreciated.
