In Desqview/X you can set an upper limit on how much memory the application
is allowed to take. I don't know about other versions of Desqview.

I think it is very unlikely that the compiler could interfere with your
fossil driver. Try compiling a program using the command line compiler,
and don't run this TCP/IP stuff AT ALL. All Turbo C++ should be doing is
taking some input files and producing an output file. Other than that, I
don't have any other ideas sorry! BFN.
