The Republican National Committee, by a vote of 114 to 43, rejected a
resolution that the Republican Party deny funding to any candidate who
does not support outlawing Partial Birth Abortion.  The rejection of
that resolution was supported by party leaders including RNC chairman
Nicholson, Bob Dole, Jack Kemp, Phil Gramm, George Bush Jr., John
Kasich, Henry Hyde, and Newt Gingrich, to name but a few.
By so doing, the Republican party stands clearly revealed as a party
that no more opposes abortion than does the Democrat party or the
Libertarian party.  Further, it stands revealed as a party that is
incapable of standing firmly on principle, whether it be a moral one, or
any other.  As noted by many others, its claim that a litmus test on any
issue is inappropriate flies directly in the face of its past refusal to
support the candidacy of the likes of David Duke.
As of now, there is but one national party that can legitimately claim
to be a pro-life party.  That party is the USTP, which is also the only
party whose platform commits it to restoring government to
Constitutional original intent.
For those to whom this latest action by the Republican party and its
leadership is the last straw, and who favor the limited government
envisioned by our Founding Fathers, I encourage you to support a
national Conservative party of firm principle, the USTP.  Affiliated
state parties and their contacts and web sites are listed on the USTP
web site, http://www.ustaxpayers.org/, as is the party platform, which
addresses the various issues we discuss here in this forum.
