-=> Quoting Jean Parrot to Bruce Clark <=- BC> The "messages" are NOT saved back to the .QWK, the Flags/Marks are BC> saved back to an .XTI file. BC> The "messages" stay in the same serial order in the MESSAGES.DAT file, BC> which is not updated in the downloaded .QWK file, and the .XTI relies BC> on that order for placing the Flags/Marks. JP> That is very very new to me this .XTI file. I will go and look JP> for it but I just can not recall ever seeing it. Look in the: C:\BWAVE\WORK\ directory, for the: "BBSNAME".XTI just before exiting that message packet. It should be the newest file in that directory, going by the time. BC> By the way... BC> This was brought up before. BC> Has the Download Directory and/or .QWK files been inadvertently BC> labeled as Read Only. BC> You should be able to see the "Attributes" with a Windows program BC> that lists Folders and Files. JP> It is. I saw it but why ? I'm not sure if a Read Only directory will keep files in it from being updated, but a Read Only file can _NOT_ be written to. This will keep PKZIP from adding the .XTI file to the .QWK packet. There was a time when I used to receive some downloaded files as Read Only. I'd have to remember to go through the download directory and do a "clear all attributes" after doing a big download, rather then doing one file at a time. ___ Blue Wave/386 v2.30 --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5a* Origin: BBS Networks {at} www.bbsnets.com 808-839-6036 (1:10/345) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 5030/786 @PATH: 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
