On 01-15-98, DAVE SHAKESPEARE declared to ROBERT PLETT:
DS>RP> Is being exposed to belief in Christ and the Bible really so terrible
DS>RP> an atheist that it's worth sacrificing liberty in order to avoid it?
DS> Yes, Robert. One sacrifices liberty by beliving in the bible.
That assertion is one made in utter ignorance, whatever "exposure" you
may have had. Furthermore, exposure and believing are not the same
things, nor does enjoying the benefits of living in a society that
gained those benefits from such beliefs require you to believe. God is
the author of free will and respects it for reasons that are logical and
readily understood, therefore, so do I. You can be as foolish about Him
as you like, that's up to you and you alone. Just don't insist the
nation conform itself to your foolishness, which stands directly against
our Christian heritage given us at great cost, and would lead to this
country's and liberty's ultimate destruction as surely as one season
follows another.
