TH>I take it you've actually tried this?
Of course. (About five times, actually)
TH>A mod I downloaded somewhere says to do the following.
TH>Comments?
The value of the inductor (Lx1) will have a significant effect on
the results, and could reduce sensitivity in the higher bands.
I went with my method since it's easy to do, and has no effect
on the higher bands, and I'm satisfied with it.
You could easily try it both ways and see which you prefer.
I managed to save L101, so I just might try the suggested
method and see how it performs.
TH>How good is CB reception? That's around 27 MHz, right?
TH>Need a special antenna, or will the average wide band
TH>(30-1300 MHz) work all right?
Reception is at least as good as a BC2500XLT. I used a
broadband dipole mounted in a small tree and picked up
truckers a few miles away. Considering the power levels and
antenna heights used by CB's, a tuned antenna mounted nice
and high would make a big difference. (Height would be the
most important factor here.)
TH>Latching LED backlights? What's this, exactly?
Three yellow LED's replacing the light bulb.
Normally off until the light button is pressed,
then on until the scanner is turned off.
