Yes. TEX is AFAIK, the only open source and cross platform foucault data
reduction SW, and I would gladly use any other program that was open and
ran on Linux.
As for "everyone should use program 'X'", I would no more
advocate everyone use a single mirror test program than I would say
"everyone should drive the car I like" or "everyone should
run the operating system I like" (please let's not get into that
discussion, however). Different people have different goals and needs, and
if nothing else testing by multiple methods and reducing the data by
mutliple programs/algorithms performs the same function as taking multiple
sets of readings - it reduces the chance of error.
Lastly, I hope people will continue to post their opinions without fear of
"flames", and conversely that we all continue to tolerate others'
opinions with discussion, but without flaming.
