Around 1999/2000 or so, I was asked to help a school make use of an abandoned IBM Thinkpad laptop found in a drawer. A 486 processor, 8MB (!) of RAM, Win 3.1 and MS Office 6.0 installed. I added Calmira and another utility that added a sort of long file name support and it suddenly felt much more modern - very quick boot time (including loading Windows) compared to systems of that era. Suddenly, folks wanted to use the laptop. --- Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.8; rv:15.0) Gecko/20120907 Thunde* Origin: Fidonet Via Newsreader - http://www.easternstar.info (1:123/789.0) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 620 848 @PATH: 123/789 500 387/22 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
