Is it the smell that say, a gas fired furnace makes after it has set for
the summer? Just guessing, but maybe dust inside the PS or filter (never
had a Drake amp so I am not sure they have a filter) along with moisture?
Maybe try the fan only and see if it smells the same? I have never had a
rig smell this way, but definately have smelled that "special" smell from
other items in the past. It always went away after a few minutes, not to
return until another long idle.
No real answers, only thoughts and guesses.
