Bob,
MacGregor recomends that you never launch or retrivl the Mac 26 with th 
ewater ballast valve open.  It could catch on the trailer and bend the valve.
Next week we take our Mac 26 to Jackson Lake in Wyoming at the Tetons.  
Beautiful place and nice uncrowded sailing.  The nicest thing about the Mac 
26 is the ease of picking it up and driving where-ever the map looks most 
interesting.  When you get there, camping aboard is not too crowded for 3 or 
4.
We live in Colorado and have sailed in many of its lakes.  We have also 
sailed  from Seatle to Jueno an dback,  Lake Champlain to long Island via New 
York City  and seveal other places.  Always had fun.
