G'morning Heather, HL> Nope... not me! But I wish someone would send a virus to HL> perpetrators of spam. Lucky you - I got 83 notifications of intercepted spams-with- viruses this am, plus the following explanation from some North American.... ___----------------------------- You're getting hit with the latest E-Mail virus called "SWEN". It typically floods your ISP (and your mail box) with hundreds (yes that's hundreds) of infected E-Mail attachments. Some people who have servers operating have reported thousands of these hitting in one day. Not much you can do except take the usual precautions. If you have a program like "mailwasher" you can delete them directly at the mail dispatch of your ISP instead of downloading. Or, your ISP may have a way to delete them for you. You can read about "SWEN" at the Symantec and McAfee web sites. Also download a removal tool in case one of those infected E-Mail attachments gets into your system. ___----------------------------- Thank heaven the fidonet gurus are intercepting mine and dealing to them as they come in; was annoying is that some spamtwit has found an email facility of mine that I didnt know I had ... grrr ! :-)) ___ MultiMail/MS-DOS v0.45 --- Maximus/2 3.01* Origin: === NZCC Maxie BBS.
