Federal interstate transport laws apply to TRANSPORT of guns.
It is called the FOPA of 1986, the same law that banned new
import and new manufacture of full-auto firearms.
Basically, it's this, if the firearm is legal in your state of
origin and your state of destination, it is legal to transport
between them. As I understand it, it also must be unloaded,
in a closed container, inaccessible to the driver, and stored
separately (in a different case/box) from the ammo.
