SL> Black Sunday????
"Black Sunday" is what Disneylanders came to call opening day at the
Park. AKA: "The Day that Everything Went Wrong."
Imagine a live television broadcast with 22 cameras (the previous record
for live TV was 3). Imagine that the asphalt on Main Street was so fresh
that people's shoes stuck to it. Imagine so many people on the Mark
Twain that it almost capsized. Imagine that the gatecrashers outnumbered
the 15,000 invited guests. Imagine one of those cameras (and
microphones) showed Walt cussing out a technician.
Yeah, "Black" weren't hardly the word for it, but it'll have to do.
Needless to say, WDW and the two overseas parks had their share of
problems, but nobody ever said the Company didn't learn from their
mistakes.
