subject: Sync on Linux/Alpha

Hey Guys,

I might be getting an older DEC Alpha server, an AlphaServer 1000A S/400RM
to be exact, and I was curious if Sync would run on such a system with
Debian 4.0 for Linux. If I do get it, it'll take some time to get it home
(it's the rack and all) plus setup.

Also with Sync aside, has anyone ran Linux on an Alpha? This server used
to run Red Hat 7.2 (and still has it loaded on it I guess), but I'd like to
install something abit newer. Being an Ubuntu fan, I'd like to stick with
Debian, which Ubuntu is based on.

Anyway, just curious...

Sam
