Hi,James. You will find, as I did, that Jalapenos are slightly easier
to grow than bell peppers. (Most hot peppers are, BTW). They usually
are smaller plants, and less prone to excessive leafiness. Last year,
when mine were heavily mulched during the hot weather, I had the
smoothest, most streak-free fruit ever.
Magnesium is associated with increased fruiting. The best way to add
it to your plants is to dissolve a little Epsom salts in water (1 tsp
per quart, I think), and spray on the plants when they begin to
flower. Repeat in 10 days.
