There actually are some well documented effects - just not the ones you
might expect or necessarily know about.
In the three days after 11/09/2011, when all civil air transport was
grounded in the USA the mean temperature across the continental USA
*rose* by about 2C The effect was attributed to the lack of jet
contrails, which normally lower the average temp by preventing sunlight
from reaching the ground during the day and prevent it radiating into
