I have a dual-core 1.8 (32 bit CPU) ghz laptop with 3 GB RAM. I pre- 
emptively migrated it to Linux a while ago, worrying about the XP "sunset" 
coming up.

Interesting, if Windows 8 could be cut down to run on a laptop of this 
vintage, I'd be tempted to try it.

What's the state of DOS VDMs in Windows 8 -- does 32-bit Windows 8 support 
16-bit DOS programs?
