Sure.
sed ' /\[.*\]/s///g' Files.bbs ' >files.tmp'
move files.tmp files.bbs
SED is the Unix Stream EDitor ported to DOS and OS/2. It says:
search for any string with a "[" followed by any characters ending in a "]"
and substitute nothing in its place.
If you don't have one, I use SED106.ZIP here, and the doc say it works in
both OS/2 and DOS, but I never bother with DOS. I also have SED15.ZIP which
I used to use in DOS, and it is also very good. It has many uses. I use it
to strip oec codes from files I automatically create for the BBS, for D/L'ing
as text, and also for stripping d/l counters from file lists I carry that I
get from MAX BBS's.
If you meant how to get OPUS179 to stop using them, I can't help ya, haven't
looked at it yet.
