You belive exactly what HCI wants you to believe.  I've told you that I've
talked
to people who used to work there and who know people still there.  HCI is 
ade
up
of political realists who are going for as much regulation as possible 
ecause
they don't think an outright ban is going to happen in the short term.  They
make
no bones about the fact that they would prefer that all firearms be banned.
Organizations associated with HCI would also like airguns treated like
firearms
with the same paperwork and waiting periods.  This means no more antique mall
and
flea market bargains.  (NJ is a model of this already) These folks think
airgun
shows are the same as firearms shows and should be regulated as such.
The original note may have been faked but most of it came from a mailer that
went
out and was posted to other news groups.  The meat of the letter is exactly 
n
line with HCI's positions as outlined by public speakers.  Most web sites
provided
toned down information.  Some would argue that the NRA's and PETA's sites are
the
same way

It looks like you managed to climb down in the muck with this paragraph.  An
attack on the  person's political views and character followed by a  comment
that
you see clearly while others are decieved.
