| subject: | Re: ATM Sixtests versus other Foucault analysis programs: kindling wood |
From: "Vladimir Galogaza" To: "ATM shore" Reply-To: "Vladimir Galogaza" Mark, (Not mentione as flaming.) It is long while since Sixtests graphs are printed directly via "File" menu "print" option. Alt-PrintScrn trick is obsolete. Download latest Sixtest and see by yourself. Regarding your preference to Sixtests, and statement: >At this time using any other of the free programs >available to ATM's isn't a smart idea. Prove it. Enter same data to different programs and compare the results. Than you will know the magnitude of difference. But not which one is true. As far as I know no definite comparison was made of data obtained by all those programs with "officialy certified" data on one particular mirror. (Regarding reliability of the "officially certified" data remember Perkin Elmer Hubble mirror scandal. ) I prefer Sixtests because of extensive literature support, e.g. "ATM Mathematics", "Live" adaptation of the program to requirements of ATMers, and because of James Burrows personality, readiness for help outside "Help" menu, and his active contribution to the ATM list ,and other qualities. But will never dare to disapprove other programs without proposed check.
