subject: Get What You Pay For 1/

Hi, Jimmy...

JA> DS> I overdid it at the square dance on Thursday, and my hips (where I
JA> DS> have bone spurs from arthritis) were awfully sore...so much so, that it
JA> DS> was very difficult to get my left leg into the car.

JA>Ouch - hate to hear that!

It wasn't pleasant to say the least...although with appointments with my
PCP, urologist, and podiatrist, I got pretty good reports.

JA>We DID go and had a blast! We learned a lot - picked up a couple of study
JA>guides as well. Later that night I was THIS close to ordering a couple of
JA>Boefeng $30 radios from Amazon when I looked at the specs. Turns out the
JA>TYT radios we bought my wife last year are similiar and have the same
JA>frequencies! So no need to buy new radios. :-)

That'll help. Years ago, there was a "DC To Daylight" rig being
sold at Dayton Hamvention (the "Ham Radio Mecca") for $17,000!!
Now, I could outfit a nice shack for $17,000, but NOT for one rig.

JA>I've programmed several local reapeaters in and heard some traffic tonight!
JA>So exciting - LOL

Nowadays, if you don't have programming cable and software, it'll take
forever and a day to get it programmed.

JA>Can't promise that we will be there but definately keeping it in mind!

Well, you can't do it all.

JA>Now I know that's a 2x3. :-)

Reminds of the picture with a man and a dachshund, with the caption
"For your birthday, I thought you'd like to see a stud of a man with a
nice weiner". The dachshunds notes "You look wonderful
today!!". LOL
