No!  It was a travesty of non-tradition.  Sure, all the profs got to dress
up in the Ren Faire regalia, but they didn't whack us with a mace or flip
our tassels or anything.  Just handed us the degree.  I had to shake hands
with the university president.  I feel so dirty.

It feels pretty much the same, although I say a bit straighter when the
Pres read formally "The Faculties have assured me that these
candidates are worthy of the degrees for which they have been
presented" or words to that effect.
