While reading, you can do an Alt-X and one of the options is to close your rep packets. As I recall, the reason for it was exactly what you are wanting... to leave the reader open, but shell out to get online to upload stuff in the meantime. It's the 3rd choice. Once you've closed the rep, you can do the Alt-D to shell out to do whatever you needed to do... :) It was new in 2.20. It appears to be an override for the usual configuration that you would set in the preferences... :) ttyl neb ... What do you mean QWK?
