        Aaragh!  Just what I didn't want to see happen!  I hope that
        you find something soon that is to your liking.  My guess is
        that your resume is rather impressive, even by West Coast
        standards.  Are you interested in another software development
        firm, or are you looking at shifting gears towards consulting
        and developing?  You obviously would make a killer internal PFW
        developer.
        Just out of curiosity, which group took the largest cut:
        Database or Languages?  And was either of the databases favored
        over the other?  My sinking suspicion is that your former
        employer is casting-off the Database division after
        over-spending on dBASE, with Paradox becoming a casualty despite
        the strong sales of PFW until recently.
