I can assure you that I am not the one missing the point. The spoof was a
simple retread (pun intended) of the tried and true line of, "guns don't kill
people, people kill people."  What was fascinating with this spoof is that 
he
gun control folks are indeed pushing for regulation of guns and gun owners 
he
same way as cars are regulated today. Every car manufactured must meet
national standards, every car purchased has to be registered,and every
aftermarket sale is also tracked, each driver needs a license, gotta have
insurance too in most states. One of the more powerful arguments from HCI is
that guns simply require the same regulation as cars do. The spoof seemed to
step right into that argument treating guns the same as cars.
