Hello Mike.

Exactly why I raised the issue. I feel OS portability should not have been
stricken off the agenda, as sysops will choose whatever OS they want.
Nowadays, multiple OS ports are becoming more and more common; you can run
Apache web server under Windows if you want, and even some Windows programs
are being ported to Linux. Then there's still the hardcore OS/2 users, and
OS/2 is not going away. Meanwhile, the popularity of other OS's, like BeOS
continues to grow, and there's even talk of the Amiga OS being upgraded.

As the old saying goes, "don't throw the baby out with the
bathwater". When you restrict development to one platform, you turn a
lot of sysops off of a development.
